NuevaLife is a volunteer based nonprofit organization created to improve the quality of life of the poorest and neediest families in Latin America through international community development. NuevaLife began in 2007 with the support and the enthusiasm of students from the University of Florida.
NuevaLife’s members are people who want to bring families the opportunity to receive a better education and emotional support by providing them with their basic needs such as nutrition, shelter, clothing and health. NuevaLife has established an important journal that is focused on enlightening many children’s life and establishing meaningful and effective interaction between their families and society.
Fundraiser for the Amazon - Event Recap
The Fundraiser for the amazon event started promptly at 5:30 at McCarthy's Ale House, the Cleveland weather was in our favor allowing our attendees to arrive for a night of fun. At the venue, our attendees gathered at NuevaLife's table, where we showcased some handcrafts made by the Amazon communities, such as necklaces and bracelets. We also shared information about our past projects in Peru and Colombia.
Along with the great music that DJ Jessee T. was playing, our attendees were taking advantage of the free drinks and the specials on the excellent food that the bar offers. Besides half of the proceeds from the ticket sale, McCarthy's also donated 50% of the sale of the jello-shots
NuevaLife current project seeks to help a community in need located in the Amazon basin of Peru (San Jose de Sarapanga), with 176 people in 36 homes. This community's main problem is the lack of drinking water, a critical element for human survival. For years, families in this community have been drinking water that they can find in a nearby river. This river has been contaminated by waste from oil and lumber companies and the lack of sewage systems.
The lack of safe water is affecting this community and communities around them, suffering from diseases such as: Anaemia, Cholera, Dengue and Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever, Hepatitis, Malaria, Malnutrition, among others.
NuevaLife is proud to present its new project at the Amazon. Our main objective is to improve the living conditions of these communities by implementing activities related to education, health and conservation.
