Classrooms construction

With the support of Curari, we constructed two classrooms at the El Arroyo Ethnoeducational Center, which serves 400 students. These classrooms will provide students with improved spaces for their academic development.

School kits delivery

Thanks to all the donors and corporate partners who participated in the 2023 Christmas campaign, we were able to deliver 1,180 school kits to children from the Wiwa and Wayuu indigenous communities. These kits provided the necessary school supplies for the children of these communities to start the school year

Water project for Muurai

Thanks to MasterCard volunteers, we were able to complete the water extraction and distribution project for the Muurai Ethnoeducational Center. The project involved drilling a deep well, installing a solar-powered pump, and setting up water storage tanks. As a result, this project has provided 500 students at the school and 30 nearby families with access to water

Delivery of bicycles for school transport

Thanks to the support of CargoCorp, 14 bicycles were delivered to students of the Muurai Ethno-educational Center. Thanks to this project, these 14 students will be able to travel from their communities to the educational center to attend their classes

The Brightening Dreams Project 

La Guajira, Colombia

The project involved installing solar lighting kits in Wayuu homes. These kits provided illumination in the evenings, enhancing connectivity, productivity, and overall quality of life. Additionally, the soccer field at the Kamuchasain Ethnoeducational Center was illuminated, offering a space for children and youth to participate in sports activities during the evenings. This project benefited 400 students from the Kamuchasain Ethnoeducational Center and 100 families from the communities of Kamuchasain, Cucurumana, Werrutka, and Anaimana.

Equipping the Muurai Ethno-educational Center's physics and chemistry laboratory. Thanks to this project and the project to equip the computer room, it was possible for students to attend 10th and 11th grades and graduate from high school. This project had an impact of 500 students

Water treatment project

To improve the water quality of the 6 communities that we have supported with the water extraction, storage, and distribution systems we created the water filtration project. 

Mastercard and other donors came together to support this project that benefits more than 300 Wayuu families.

The project occurred at the Centro Etnoeducativo Lacho, Pactalia campus in Mayapo. It aimed to benefit 30 students ranging from first to third grade of primary school.

As a result of the visit of some volunteers, we started a project to provide photovoltaic solar energy systems for vulnerable Wayuu families so that the children have illunination to continue with their studies after dark.

Solar powered water system

First Mastercard Corporate Volunteer Trip takes place; a solar-powered pump is installed that extracts water from underground, collects it in an elevated tank, and distributes it to 8 main outlets throughout the community of Werrutka.

Also, NuevaLife and Hope International Clinic promote a yearly Health Brigade.

Vegetable Gardens

Blue Missions Group joined NuevaLife to build a water distribution network to bring water to 36 homes in rural areas. Mastercard joined NuevaLife to build the second water system. One Set 4 first volunteering trip to work on vegetable gardens to promote sustainable health and nutrition.

Animal Care

NuevaLife and Riocanes joined forces to help the homeless animals of La Guajira. A paw support project was put into place, building dog homes built, vets sharing their gifts to heal these animals, and thorough education for the people in the community on how to take care of them.

1st Windmill

Hyatt Hotels joined NuevaLife to build the first wind-powered pump to extract water from the ground and collect it in an elevated tank. This project gave access to over 30 families directly and indirectly in the community of La Esperanza.

Discovery Trip

La Guajira, Colombia

NuevaLife arrived in La Guajira, Colombia where the levels of poverty are very high and the lack of basic human resources such as water, electricity, health and education are not met.

Container of Hope

Valle del Cauca, Colombia

A 40' Container was sent to Colombia to asees a specific poverty crisis in different communities in Valle del Cauca in 2011, and then a second 40' container to Buenaventura in 2013.

1st Water System

Amazonas, Peru

NuevaLife visited San Jose de Sarapanga in the Amazon of Perú. After identifying multiple waterborne diseases, NuevaLife started its first water project. Because of this project, a community of around 210 people enjoy clean water today.

1st Container of Hope

Puños, Peru

NuevaLife volunteers visited all surrounding communities to distribute a 40' container full of clothes, shoes, school supplies, and toys. Also, educational activities with a group of children from 8 to 14 years old.
